Cub Scouting is the spring board into Boy Scouts so even 5th graders still have time to join and get a leg up into Boy Scouting during March of the 5th grade year. We are always needing parents to assume pack, den or committee responsibilities, so parents, please step forward and join scouting with your son. - Brian Chaney, Cubmaster

Submitted by Mr. Eller on Tue, 09/13/2005 - 10:47am.I have a ways to go yet on getting everything completely in order; but, I think we can start using pack417.org as a means or communication right away. Currently the Calendar of Events is ready to go as are the Forums, Stories, Book Reviews, Movie Reviews, Chili Cook-Off Recipes and the Newsletter. Most everything else is at least partially done, including Photo Galleries, Blogs, Den Planners, Pack Planners, Popcorn Sales and a few other things. Don't be surprised if some of these don't work the way you expect. They will soon.
I'm hoping the site will be useful and fun. Den Leaders will probably find being able to plan their meetings online a help as well as the ability to have those meeting plans and notices go out automatically to all of their members a timesaver. I've included a "User Points" system to help encourage the scouts to get online and contribute. Each time they come to the site and contribute content, they will get points and be able to see where they are ranked with the rest of the pack.
